Rob Brighton

A well-established name in UK RC racing, Rob brings experience, consistency, and top-level pace. Known for his smooth and controlled driving, he’s a regular at major events across the country. A day-one supporter of SKIM RC and co-runner of EARCC Norwich RC Racing Club, Rob plays a big role in the community both on and off the track. Running ROBSPEC paint and SKIM RC team wear all season.

Byron Russell

Byron returned to RC racing in 2017 with clear intent and has since built a reputation as one of the most technically skilled drivers in the pits. A regular A finalist, he competes nationally at EWS and races at both Colchester Model Car Club and EARCC. Known for his deep understanding of car setup, Byron stands out not just for his performance, but for his willingness to help others with advice and guidance trackside.

Mark Burgess

With a racing career starting in 1984, Mark brings decades of experience and success across multiple RC disciplines. From national titles to international events, he’s built an outstanding record in the sport. Now focused on FWD, he remains a strong competitor at EWS, Rugracers, and beyond, while also supporting Team GB in the ETS. A Race Manager at IRIS Racing and a respected figure in the community, Mark is a perfect fit for SKIM RC.

Chris Lovely

A consistent racer with multiple A-final appearances across Nationals, MICC, and BIWS, Chris has built a strong presence in the RC scene from a young age. Focused on local racing, he continues to develop his skills while bringing a determined and positive attitude to the track. Also runs his own RC YouTube channel documenting his journey.

Mark’s RC journey started back in 1984 with a Tamiya Grasshopper, quickly progressing into racing and picking up his first trophy in 1985. Since then, he’s built an incredible racing career across off-road, touring cars, and 1/12th scale. Mark's highlights include the following..... Touring Car class wins in the Tamiya Eurocup, BTCC success in the early 90s and 00s, Multiple Stock National wins at WLRC, Competing at major international events in America such as the Snowbirds intentional and IIC in Las Vegas, Achieving A-main finishes and taking home some serious silverware over multiple regional and UK championships......honest the list is too long More recently, Mark has focused on FWD, with strong results at events like the Essex Winter Series - EWS Events, Rug racers and carpet legends, as well as helping grow Team GB presence in the ETS - Euro Touring Series. Along with his racing, Mark is also the Race Manager for the IRIS Racing Race Team and continues to play a key role within the RC community. Mark is genuinely one of the nicest, most helpful and kindest racers on the UK circuit — something that means a lot to us as a team
